What this site is
Screen Free Zone is an independent review and research site covering tools for reducing compulsive phone use — phone lockboxes, minimal phones, kid-safe devices, and analog alternatives. Every product earns one of three verdicts: Buy, Shortlist, or Skip.
This is a research-based site at launch. Verdicts are based on manufacturer specifications, published technical reviews, and user reports — not hands-on testing. Where sourcing matters for a specific claim, we say so in the review text. Our methodology is explained in full on the How We Review page.
Why we built it
Finding reliable, unbiased reviews of phone lockboxes, minimal phones, and similar tools is harder than it should be. Most product pages are either manufacturer copy or aggregated lists with thin commentary. Screen Free Zone exists to offer structured, honest verdicts based on what the product actually does — including where it falls short.

Screen Free Zone earns revenue through affiliate links — when you buy through a link on this site, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. We also use display advertising.
