How We Review

Screen Free Zone is a research-based review site at launch. We do not personally test every product we review. Verdicts are based on:

  • Manufacturer specifications — official documentation, spec sheets, and published product descriptions
  • Independent technical coverage — published reviews from technology press and specialist outlets
  • User reports — aggregated feedback from verified purchasers, forums, and community discussion where patterns are consistent
  • Category research — comparative analysis of how products fit within their category

Where a specific claim depends on a particular source type, we indicate it in the review text ("according to manufacturer specifications," "based on user reports," etc.). We do not write "we tested" or "in our hands-on review" unless that is literally true.

Every product review on Screen Free Zone earns one of three verdicts:

Buy

The product does what it claims well enough that most people in the target audience should buy it. It may not be perfect, but the trade-offs are acceptable for the use case.

Shortlist

The product is credible for a specific audience or use case, but has meaningful trade-offs that make it a conditional recommendation rather than a universal one. Read the "who it's for" section carefully before buying.

Skip

The product has significant problems — poor reliability, misleading claims, a better alternative at the same price — that make it difficult to recommend for most buyers.

The "Bottom line" at the top of every review is a single-sentence summary of the verdict and the core reason for it. It is written to be accurate in isolation — if you read nothing else in the review, the bottom line should tell you whether the product is worth your time and why.

Every review displays a "Last reviewed" date, which reflects the most recent date we verified the review content against current product information. We aim to review products when significant changes occur — price, features, availability, or competitor landscape — or at least annually. If you notice that a product has changed since its last review date, email us at contact@screenfreezone.com .

Some links on Screen Free Zone are affiliate links. When you buy through an affiliate link, we may earn a commission. This does not affect the verdict — we review products with and without affiliate programs in the same way, and a "Skip" verdict remains a Skip regardless of any affiliate relationship. Our full disclosure is on the affiliate disclosure page.

We correct factual errors when they are identified. If you believe a review contains an inaccuracy, email contact@screenfreezone.com with the specific claim and a credible source. We will review and correct promptly.
